HISTORY OF LOCH LEVEN BROWNS
GERMAN BROWNS   Loch Leven Brown

The Loch Leven Browns were brought over to the United States and Canada in the early 1900's from Kincardine Scotland. The eggs were put in wooden crates with wet moss over them so they could survive the long transport. Europeans brought the Loch Leven Browns into the states because the Loch Leven's were a sporty fish with lots of fight!

This Loch Leven Brown was the 1925 winner of the Sax & Fryer contest for the largest trout caught in the Yellowstone River.
